This is a super simple Glaze Frosting Recipe that is very easy and quick to make. This frosting or icing goes great on cupcakes and cakes that you want just a light touch of sweetness added to the cake but want to keep the focus on the flavors of the cake instead of a sugar overload.
2 cups confectioner sugar
3 Tbsp butter, soft
2 Tbsp boiling water
- Sift the confectioner sugar into a bowl. Add the butter and boiling water. Mix until smooth.
- Dip cupcakes into frosting or drizzle over top of cupcakes or cake.
You can add flavor or coloring to this frosting for your desired taste or theme. Here are a few flavoring options: Vanilla; add 1/4 tsp vanilla extract. Chocolate; add 1 Tbsp cocoa powder. Lemon or Orange; replace the boiling water with 2 Tbsp of lemon or orange juice. Mocha; add 2 tsp cocoa powder and dissolve 1 tsp instant coffee granules into boiling water. Coffee; add 1 tsp instant coffee granules into boiling water.
